Having a stroke can be a devastating event. Stroke takes a toll that is hard to measure, not only for the survivor but also for the caregiver. There are many support groups in Nebraska and adjoining states to help you deal with the effects of stroke and regain a sense of normalcy in your life. We’ve listed a few in this PDF. You can also find information about support groups on our Events page and our Resources page. We encourage you and your loved ones to get involved with a support group.

You may also find the NSSA’s Facebook group to be of help to you. It is a place for stroke survivors, caregivers, and loved ones to find answers to questions, get support, and be able to connect with other stroke survivors.

Keep up with the latest news on our Facebook page and Twitter and look for new posts on our News page. Our YouTube channel features videos from stroke survivors and nurses, as well as our PSAs. We also have regular updates to our Resources page.

Seeing and hearing a stroke survivor or a medical expert live and in person is a powerful teaching moment. Our community outreach includes stroke-awareness presentations to clubs, civic groups, and businesses across Nebraska. We provide speakers for nursing home and therapy staff education and have developed an education program for grade school students. If your business or school could benefit from having us present to your staff or students, contact us. Learn more about our programs on our Resources page. Would you like to get involved? Let us know!
